As a new graduate this was a great way to start my clear aligner journey, and Shaun and Carlos were extremely well-spoken and presented the material in a structured and organized manner. Looking forward to applying the learnings from this weekend in practice!

I signed up to support a friend’s Clear Aligner course—and ended up getting way more value than I expected. The course is called CAAD run by the very talented Shaun Weng and Carly Yang. It’s a 3-day course held at the Marriott in Docklands (Melbourne), running 8:30–5:30 each day, fully catered with unlimited coffee (very important). The course covers a great range of content, including diagnosis, clinical photography, crossbite correction, and both Class II and III treatment. The teachers are super approachable and make the concepts easy to understand and apply. There were also reps from companies like GC Australia, Angel Align and Intensiv, and it was a great chance to chat and see what tools and materials are out there. Day one finishes with a rooftop cocktail event, which was a great way to unwind and meet others on the course. Bonus: you get a free comprehensive aligner case, mentorship for one case, retractors and a mirror for your clinical photos, and a full walkthrough of the Angel Align software so you’re confident using it yourself. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to build confidence in aligner treatment and get hands-on with practical skills.

Having flown 4000 km away from home in WA for this exceptional course, I can proudly confirm its been the best value for my time away from the clinic. Shaun and Carlos have managed to create a course that lays out easy to digest step-by-step protocols for managing malocclusions whilst making the dry topic of biomechanics hella interesting with interactive quiz activities, lots of hands-on and memes! CAAD stands apart from other weekend courses for me because its the most comprehensive course I found that covered everything I needed to get confident in my CAT (clear aligner therapy) skills including Ceph analysis, dental photography, multiple walk through treatment planning components covering special CAAD ways of tackling complicated cases. Shawn and Carlos haven’t shied away from sharing the more ‘touchy’ aspects of CAT like refinements, legalities and limitations showcasing their early learnings so we can pickup these clinical pearls and implement them straight into our practice the very next day. Both Shaun and Carlos are excellent speakers. Their way of delivering concepts was very refreshing and engaging which highlights their wealth of knowledge in the field. We received the lecture content weeks before the course was due which made it even more effective in understanding the difficult concepts and refering back to them when I go back would be extremely helpful. This course has changed the way I will approach my aligner cases forever. I have not one ounce of hesitation in recommending this course to everyone keen to improve their skills in aligners.

There really was a lot of knowledge generously shared this weekend. I have attended other weekend aligner courses in recent years and comparatively, this course had more information presented in a more concise and easy to understand manner. The lack of upsell/funnelling towards other side services also makes you feel like it’s a weekend well spent. The congruity between the speakers also leads for better delivery of information and lecture flow. Overall, a great beginner - intermediate aligner course. Provides plenty of information to give you confidence in starting cases immediately without the time commitment of a mini/maxi residency.

I’d like to chime in to say that I also found the course amazing. Ortho is a very big subject to cover, especially when only given two days to do so. Shaun and Carlos have worked hard to create a course that takes a beginner into the complex world of aligner orthodontics with ease. As educators, they have a way of delivering important orthodontic principles in a simple, concise, and digestible manner. Their use of case studies helps reinforce these principles over and over again until they truly sink in. With aligners, not every movement is predictable, but through CAAD, you learn the protocols to follow and how to communicate them effectively with the technician, making treatment outcomes much more predictable. They also share valuable tips and tricks to help troubleshoot common issues that may arise during treatment, giving you the confidence to handle real-world cases. Whether you're new to aligners or looking to refine your aligner skills, this course is an invaluable resource!

Over two days of lectures and practical hands on exercises, we received an incredibly comprehensive training in aligner therapy. It was a LOT of information but it was presented in a clear, well structured, and easy to follow format. The lecturers Carly Yang and Shaun Weng  were fantastic presenters. They were very knowledgeable and generous with sharing that knowledge (without the upsale that we so often see these days). I would recommend the course to everyone considering starting aligners through to more intermediate providers. I started my aligner journey about 10 years ago and I still learnt a lot from this weekend! What was taught was practical, real world dentistry and I look forward to applying the new protocols that I have learnt to my aligner cases.

I was also at the course this weekend and it is the best clear aligner course that I have attended! There was a crazy amount of content which were presented in a very logical flow - basic principles, ortho photography, correction of Class I/II/III, tips and tricks + troubleshooting, prescriptive aligner protocols, live demonstration, interdisciplinary treatment with aligners, etc ...
