Meet the team
Dr Shaun Weng graduated as the Dux of his class at the University of Melbourne. He is the recipient of the John Illife Scholarship Prize, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS) Academic Prize, the Colgate Dental Award and placed on the Dean's Honours List. He taught at the University of Melbourne as an examiner and demonstrator in the Fixed Prosthodontics department.
After graduating he then went on to complete both Postgraduate Diploma in Orthodontics and Postgraduate Certificate in Clear Aligners from the UK accrediting body in the following years. Dr Shaun's focus now has been on developing proper predictable protocols, surgical impactions and in treating more complex cases.
Dr Shaun is also passionate in incorporating aligners with interdisciplinary approach in dentistry including edge bonding composite, ceramic veneers, implants, gingival recontouring, full mouth rehabilitation. He loves teaching, Dr Shaun regularly mentors younger graduates by providing guidance and knowledge.
Together with Dr Carlos Yang, they co-founded CAAD Education with a mission to set a new benchmark in clear aligner education, teaching over 700 dentists from Australia, Asia pacific and dentists around the world.

Dr. Carlos Yang, a distinguished graduate from James Cook University, received his degree with Honours in 2015. His academic excellence was recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Academic Medal, the Australian Dental Research Foundation Colin Cormie Scholarship, the Elsevier Australian Book Prize, and the ADAQ FNQ Sub-Branch Prize.
Furthering his expertise, Dr. Carlos completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Orthodontics and Facial Orthopaedics, along with numerous other leading orthodontic programs globally. Currently, he practices in private metropolitan Melbourne, focusing exclusively on clear aligners to achieve predictable outcomes for all types of malocclusions. His proficiency extends to phase I Angelalign MA cases, addressing more complex patient needs.
As a senior associate dentist in two major dental corporations, Dr. Carlos handles internal orthodontic referrals across multiple Melbourne locations. His passion for education and mentorship has led him to support and guide younger associates within the organization, and he extends his influence by teaching dentists worldwide through online platforms.
